Top U.S. healthcare executive appointed as Chairman of Ananda Health

We are pleased to welcome David W. Neu as the Executive Chairman of Ananda Health, the nutraceutical arm of Ecofibre Ltd.  (ASX: EOF), Ananda Professional's parent company.

David is the former President of AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation (NYSE: ABC) and Good Neighbor Pharmacy, one of the largest pharmaceutical distribution companies in the world.

As the industry matures, we expect that hemp-derived CBD products will eventually become an integral part of the U.S. and global healthcare system. David will help guide implementation of our strategic vision to be the preferred provider of hemp-derived CBD products to independent pharmacies.

DEA Plans to Quintuple Amount of Cannabis Grown for Research


The U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have proposed to significantly increase the amount of cannabis that can legally grow in the U.S. for research purposes and reduce the number of opioids that are manufactured in the nation in 2019.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

Although not widely taught in school, the endocannabinoid system is present in all humans and vertebrates.  It is present throughout the brain, the central nervous system and the periphery.  It is both exceedingly complex and poorly understood by many.  We know that the endocannabinoid system plays a role in a host of homeostasis activities, including mood, the sleep/wake cycle, the HPA axis, inflammatory responses & immunomodulation, and more.  This happens naturally with endogenous cannabinoids, such as 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) and N-arachidonylethanolamine (anandamide).  When someone experiences a “runner’s high,” that’s the endocannabinoid system working.
